Saturday, January 14th, 2023 the Diamond High School speech and debate team competed at the Fair Grove Tournament. Four Diamond students competed against eighteen other schools in Radio Speaking, Poetry, Dramatic Interpretation (DI), Program of Oral Interpretation (POI), and Prose reading. Senior Nick Malcom competed in Radio Speaking. Senior Bella Lankford was entered in Dramatic Interpretation, Program of Oral Interpretation, and Prose reading, and placed 5th in DI and 3rd in POI. Sophomore Serenity Greathouse was triple entered in Poetry, DI, and POI, where she placed 2nd in Poetry. Sophomore Erika Malcom participated in Poetry, DI, and Prose, ending the night with 3rd in Poetry. Despite being faced against other large schools, Diamond was able to walk away with three trophies and one medal.
