On the 28th of October, the Diamond Speech and Debate team journeyed to Willard for their first tournament of the year. Four members of Diamond Speech and Debate took action for the tournament. On the novice side of the tournament, senior Nick Malcom competed in radio. On the varsity side, sophomores Lillian Leake and Erika Malcom competed in dramatic Interpretation, and sophomore Serenity Greathouse competed in program oral interpretation. This was a two-day tournament, meaning the first two rounds happened on Friday night and semifinals as well as finals happened on Saturday. Serenity Greathouse was the only competitor from Diamond to advance to semifinals. She then used her momentum to break into finals and earned 4th out of 35 entries. All of Diamond’s members competed very well and worked extremely hard. Good luck and keep reaching for new goals, Speech!
