District Honors Veterans

Marsha Rogers, Larry Cunningham, Donna and Daniel Frick were among the staff members honored at the annual Veterans Day Assembly.

The Diamond School District held its annual Veteran’s Day Assembly on Friday, November 11. There was Veterans from around our community assembled in the gym for a day of remembrance and to honor our fallen heroes. Mr. Anthony Ficken, High School Principal, opened the ceremonies, followed by Dr. Keith White, Superintendent, who introduced the veterans by name. The event was organized by the High School Student Council.

White also made mention of a recently passed veteran, Elmer White, 86, who served in the United States Army Airborne from 1958-1961. He had 25 jumps while in the Army.

Veterans working in the district who attended the assembly included David Smith, District Bookkeeper, Tami Slagle, High School Counselor, Marsha Rogers, Custodian, Daniel Frick, Custodian, and Larry Cunningham, Retired.

The band concluded the ceremony with the anthems of each military branch followed by patriotic songs.
