FFA Spring Contest

FFA Spring Contest

Zach Baird, Reporter

Every year the National FFA organization holds CDE and LDE contests. CDE stands for Career Development Event and LDE stands for Leadership Development Event. The CDE’s contest consists of judging animals, soil, plants, and everything in between. For example, there’s a contest about how well you can identify products and plants. There are contests that require you to take certain tests and others that involve a lot of math. Schools hold these contests statewide and teams must register to compete. Then after a while districts roll around. This year the top three of each contest at districts will advance to state. The State Convention consists of contests and events including proficiencies and state degrees.  Diamond hopes to send some CDE teams to state this year along with a student who has already qualified for proficiencies and state degrees. Good luck to all of those competing this spring!
