Scholar Bowl @Sarcoxie

Wednesday, February 12th, the Scholar Bowl team left at 4:00 p.m. for a Sarcoxie tournament. The members who attended all did their best and reached the results of 1 win and 3 losses. They played the Kickapoo Varsity twice, and their JV once and loss those games. They won their game against Pierce City Varsity. They played Kickapoo three times due to a mix up where a middle school signed up thinking it was a middle school tournament, and coincidentally, the Diamond team was meant to play their Varsity and JV. So instead of the one game that was to be played against Kickapoo, there were three games. The team was expected to win at least two before games but after they had drawn Kickapoo they knew there was not much they could do but play hard.

According to the Scholar Bowl Coach, Mrs. Hayes, the team has grown in size and matured, and it was interesting to see members different members captain. The team’s weaknesses are many topics, but they seem to struggle with rivers and composers. The team’s strengths for that night were staying interested and paying attention during the game. Team members also displayed confidence.

In conclusion, the members did their best and did not do so well, but they gained experience in playing an advanced school and enjoyed playing.
