This week we interviewed Mrs. Hayes, otherwise known as Señora. She graduated from MSSC or currently known as MSSU. She has been teaching for 18 years in Diamond but previously taught at Wyandotte, OK. Señora primarily teaches as a Spanish teacher for all four levels in high school. Also, she leads International Club, Scholar Bowl, and the A+ program. In addition, she helps the foreign exchange students get around and has had two stay with her in the past. Her favorite thing about being a teacher is the part when a student understands the lesson or as she called it the “awe moment.” In her classroom, Mrs. Hayes has this “tradition” of when it’s a students quinceañera; she lets the student wear a crown or sombrero and sings to them in Spanish.
