Upon entering the media room, the first initiatives is to find your seat, set down your bag, and sign out a computer. Then, the different groups of students are assigned different tasks such as editing, writing, reviewing, and publishing stories. At the beginning of each week students fill out a schedule of what they hope to achieve during the week, and at the end, the schedule is revisited. Students are, also, graded on whether or not they put a story up on the Prowl that week or not. The media class helps prepare students for future jobs in news, entertainment, story writing, and publicity. It improves student’s responsibility in doing work.
