With the recent phenomenon of many people getting a Nintendo Switch, especially here at Diamond High School, I have decided to take a look at Nintendo’s gaming console. Owning a Switch myself, I want to investigate the question as to why so many people want one and are getting one.

To begin, the Nintendo Switch already has one feature that makes it more convenient than other consoles which is the size and design of the console. The Switch consists of a three main parts. First, the most essentially part, is the actually console which contains: a touch screen, a game card slot, a kickstand, and a opening to use a mobile switch charger. The console is actually small enough to make it transportable from place to place letting one take around with one for whenever one may want to play a game or watch a movie. Second, the console has a pair controllers, or Joy Cons, who come in various colors, which are detachable from the main console allowing one to do an assortment of things with the controllers even use each Joy Con as a individual controller! Lastly, there is the dock for the console which can be used to charged the console but it can also allow one to use the switch on a TV, but now it is time the take a look at what the switch can do.

One of the most obvious abilities of the Nintendo Switch is playing games. Containing a large library of games, The Switch has something for everyone from games like Mario for kids to more Teenage and Adult-like games such as Skyrim.  The genre of games is wide from party games to puzzle game to fighting games such as Super Smash Ultimate, which has blown up over Christmas. However, the Switch doesn’t only support games, but also things like Netflix allowing the ability watch TV shows and movies on the go.

All in all, the Switch is very good console for anyone from kids to teenagers to adults. While still having 300 dollar price range it still is cheaper than other consoles and a great console to start with for anyone who hasn’t owned one before. I, personally, recommend a Nintendo Switch to anyone looking for a new console.
