Beauty and the Beast will be performed by the students at Diamond High School, in the spring of 2019. The cast and crew are very committed to this play and are working hard to make this production of Beauty and the Beast a reality.

Here is some new information we’ve gathered about the play:

Q: Why did you pick the musical Beauty and the Beast?

A: “We had a successful run with The Little Mermaid last year, so we thought we’d give another Disney show a shot. I really loved seeing all the elementary kids enjoying the show.”

Q: When is the first official play rehearsal?

A: “We’ve just had our first read through rehearsals. We read the script together and listened to the music for the first time. Some cast members are working on solos now, but full cast rehearsals will pick up in January.”

Q: How hard is it to put on a high school play?

A: “It is a labor of love. It’s a big commitment, and it seems like there is always something that needs to be done. We all work together to make it happen. Plus, it’s pretty fun.”

Q: What’s your favorite part about musicals?

A: “I really love the use of music to push the story forward. Music itself evokes emotion, and pairing music with the thoughts and feelings of characters is so powerful.”

Q: After having your first read through, which scene are you most looking forward to?

A: “I’m looking forward to so many scenes! This show is going to be so fun.”

Q: How excited are you on a scale of 1 to 10 for Beauty and the Beast?

A: “10, of course!”
